My aim in writing this annotated bibliography is to research how multilingualism influences the cognitive development of children. I suggest that the acquisition of a second language, and/or being exposed to a second language early on in childhood results in cognitive advantages compared to that of monolingual children. Such advantages include the ability to ignore irreverent information and inhibition, enhanced problem solving, and the ability to react to changing jobs and environment.
